So you've seen some new activity and you've been wondering what's coming around the corner? Here's a quick progress report on businesses making great strides and investing in our historic downtown.

As these projects move forward, we'll follow-up with photos of the finished product and celebrate our growth downtown!

Dillon Fountain Our beautiful riverfront fountain has been repaired and is flowing water once again. Make sure to pay it a visit the next time you're downtown and enjoy the scenery.
Ragged Records - Now Open! Ragged Records buys, sells, and trades. Inventory will include over 50,000 records (LPs, 45s, and 78s) from all genres of music, with something for everyone from the high-end collector down including a wide range of CDs and DVDs too. Located at 421 Brady Street, on the second floor above Riverbend Antiques and TrashCan Annie's. Hours: Monday thru Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. 563/324-3579
Ripley Street Grille Now Open! The final piece of the Freight House complex is now in place with the opening of the Ripley Street Grille! The restaurant is open for dinner, and more information can be found at the Freight House Homepage.
Snap Fitness Now Open! Snap Fitness is located on 2nd Street next to the Jr. Achievement Center, and is now open for business! The fitness center offers 24/7 availability for its members. Grand Opening Specials Membership Info
4th & Iowa Site Workers are continuing to clean up the property while salvaging the small historic brick building near the corner for future development. A new tenant is currently being sought for the newly available space.
Azteca Mexican Restaurant Local favorite, Azteca, will be arriving in Downtown Davenport near the corner of Harrison and 3rd St! This is sure to be a popular destination. More details soon.
Streetscaping Streetscaping will be installed in front of the historic Crescent Lofts along 4th Street soon. Decorative light poles, flower baskets, and brick pavers will be added to continue improving our growing eastern residential neighborhood. New photos will be added as work progresses
The Blue Hue, Inc The Blue Hue, located at 205 East 2nd St, has returned downtown! Owned and operated by DeAnna Hancq, CPCP, the Blue Hue offers cutting edge permanent cosmetics, skin camouflage, tattoos, and even doubles as a training center. This is an incredibly unique business, and we suggest you visit the homepage to truly understand the breadth of what The Blue Hue has to offer.
Salon Luce Salon Luce is located at 400 North Main St. in the heart of our downtown next to the Executive Square building. They have a highly educated staff specializing in the latest trends, and also offer a wide range services from parties to airbrush make-up. Hilltop Hair Variety Shop & Neat Stuff These two retail outlets have moved from the top of Harrison St. and the east end of downtown to become the newest editions near the corner of Brady and 4th St. These stores have a little bit of everything, so go see for yourself what they've got to offer.
Sculpture on 2nd The Sculpture on 2nd rotating artwork program is in full swing once again. The program has grown in size and popularity each year, and 2008 has been no exception. Admire this, and many other fine works of art throughout Downtown Davenport during your next visit.
Riverview Terrace Apartments The former Salvation Army building located across from the Freight House along River Drive has long been targeted for renovation. Work has begun converting the building in to another great downtown apartment complex to add to our growing list of residential options!
Sippi's Fine Food & Cocktails Located at the corner of 2nd and Ripley Streets, "Sippi's Fine Food & Cocktails" is open for business! The restoration of this historic building is a welcome addition to our neighborhood. The main floor is a restaurant, while the second houses the bar area. Outdoor dining is also open, so visit soon and try our newest restaurant downtown!

Front Street Brewery Front Street Brewery is now a long-standing resident of our downtown; however, their growing business ran short on space recently. Construction is now complete on the expansion to the front of their restaurant, which has added seating for 22 more patrons. Owner and operator, Jennie Ash, was pleasantly surprised to find that the new view out the front window has created a great place to eagle-watch along the riverfront.
Nan's Piano Bar at the Freight House Entertainment includes dueling pianos monthly, and National touring live music Thursdays through Saturdays. Wednesdays and Sundays feature homegrown artists. Nan’s Piano Bar offers large windows offer an awe-inspiring view of the Davenport Sky Bridge, Mississippi River, and provide patrons a vantage point from which to take in summer events at LeClaire Park. Davenport Freight House Farmers Market Every Wednesday & Saturday May 3 - Oct. 29 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Rain or Shine! Where: Freight House Parking Lot & Building 421 West River Drive Parking is available on site. Local vendors will offer the very best in produce, specialty meats and cheeses, delicious baked foods, specialty crafted goods, organic products, and much more! Blackhawk Hotel The historic Blackhawk Hotel is in negotiations to be renovated. Progress on this multi-million dollar project will hopefully begin soon! We're thrilled to see such an important piece of Downtown Davenport's history working its way back to vitality. More details to come as they are available.
The Capitol Theatre Located at the corner of Ripley & 3rd Streets, this priceless Vaudeville-era theatre must be seen to be believed. Although its incredible architecture is still intact, renovations are underway right now so that it can better support larger events and concerts. A new bar, improved bathrooms, and touching up some of the aging portions of the stage and building are in the works.
The M.L. Parker Building Renovations on the main floor of the historic M.L. Parker Building at 2nd & Brady are in progress. As was reported in the original announcement this past fall, the main floor is slated to include newly renovated retail space.
