Your Downtown Guide to St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day is approaching quickly and we have your guide to downtown for the festivities!
The Grand Parade will start in Rock Island at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and make it’s way over to Davenport. Practice the words to “Wearin’ of the Green” before the parade makes it’s way over the Centennial bridge to 3rd St. The nationally unique parade will conclude at the RiverCenter, where the St. Patrick Society will be throwing their post-parade bash!
On March 12, The Apprentices will be painting “Shamrock Alley,” better known as 2nd and Main Street. Shamrock Alley will serve as the starting line for CASI’s 35th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Race. The race will start Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. with the Tot Trot. The 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk and the Fast, Flat and Fun 5k road race will start promptly after. If you don’t want to celebrate St. Patty’s day with fitness, there’s still the option to participate as a Ghost Runner!
Luckily for us, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday this year, and our downtown businesses are taking advantage of the reason to celebrate. River Music Experience is hosting a concert and fundraiser for the QC Celtic Festival with musical guests Laural Almquist and Four Shillings Short. Barrel House is partying all weekend long with drink specials on Friday and a pre-parade party starting at 8 a.m. Dam View Inn is celebrating dual events; St. Patty’s day and the kickoff of March Madness. Expect Dj’s and tons of basketball throughout the weekend. On Saturday, Analog will host an outdoor party, and Me & Billy will be hosting their “Classic Day O’ Fun” including drink specials and delicious snacks from the Crepe Guy! Don’t forget about the annual St. Patty’s Day party at Shenanigans, as well as the big outdoor parties at Kilkenny’s, Carriage Haus, and Mac’s, too.
