The 2025 Alternating Currents Mural Fest brought two incredible new works of art to Downtown Davenport.
Since launching just a few years ago, Mural Fest has now activated four Downtown Davenport sites with 10 pieces of artwork, created by eight local and regional muralists, including two lead artists who helped guide the very first projects while also contributing their own artistic elements. Building on that foundation, this year we expanded and welcomed our first national and international guests.
This Mural Fest was made possible through the funding support of:
Alternating Currents Presenting Sponsors: Regional Development Authority and Rhythm City Casino; Arts Partner: The Cultural Trust; Mural Fest Partner: Quad City Arts

Title: “Protect the Seed, Protect the Flow”
Location: Marigold Resources, 308 E. River Dr., Davenport, IA
"Protect the Seed, Protect the Flow," is a surreal, symbolic mural depicting organic forms, flowers and planta, shielding a single seed as it begins its journey. A river flows beside them, representing the continuous movement of life, while a central sequence shows the seed evolving into a mighty oak tree. The mural is a visual reminder that protecting what is small and essential is the key to sustaining growth, flow, and future resilience.
