Smaller apartments, retail in Opportunity Zone opens doors for affordable downtown living

People looking for smaller, affordable downtown living and entrepreneurs who want low-overhead space may have a new option soon thanks to a proposed development in Davenport.  Merge Urban Development, a Cedar Falls-based real estate developer, looks to take advantage of new federal tax incentives for building in an Opportunity Zone.  Its proposed new mixed use development project would incorporate both micro-apartments and retail.
