The deadline of September 30 is quickly approaching and it is crucial that we get a complete count of every person living in the Quad Cities region.
Why? For starters, the more people counted the closer our six-county region population gets to half a million people, increasing the chances of companies locating their new businesses and factories here. Census data also influence the distribution of economic development grants and more than $675 billion in federal funds to states, including over $43 billion in Illinois and Iowa.
This year the Census is being conducted primarily online for the first time. If the response rate is low, the Quad Cities region runs the risk of losing equal and fair Congressional representation and federal funding for the next decade.
By filling out the 2020 Census you can make a BIG impact in our community for the next 10 years. From roads, schools, health care and more, an accurate census count informs decisions about where to build and where to invest.

Census participants will be asked a series of basic questions, including age, name, race and ethnicity, about each person living in their household. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and the responses are kept confidential. Respondents who do not want to answer the questionnaire online can do so by telephone or by mailing in a paper form.
