Exciting changes are underway in multiple areas of Downtown Davenport as revitalization efforts continue to take shape. Below, you'll find the latest updates on current construction activity. Check back regularly for more news as additional developments are announced.
Main Street Landing Updates
Beginning Tuesday, September 9th, Valley Construction will begin installing the foundations associated with the pedestrian bridge, which involves driving steel piles into the ground. While the work is completely restricted within the project’s site, it will be repetitive and noisy, and it may create some ground vibrations in the surrounding area. This work is scheduled to take approximately two weeks to complete. Crews will be on site each day between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Skybridge Improvements
The Skybridge will be closed beginning Monday, September 8th through Friday, September 12th for a lighting system replacement. This upgrade entails replacing the bridge's 20-year-old technology to ensure this landmark remains a popular destination for years to come.

3rd Street Resurfacing
The intersections north and south of 3rd Street, from Gaines to Harrison, are currently undergoing repaving. Crews are working diligently to restore the curbs and sidewalks and are aiming to have the intersections completed within the next two weeks. Watch for lane shifts and signage as crews work to improve both pedestrian and vehicle accessibility. Complete street resurfacing and preparations for conversion are expected towards the end of fall. Expect more updates in the months to come.
