Downtown Davenport Quarterly Update
Downtown Davenport has been full of momentum this season from new storefronts to major infrastructure progress and of course, plenty of events that keep our streets lively. We’re excited to share a snapshot of what’s been happening and what’s just around the corner.
Downtown is buzzing with energy thanks to a wave of new openings! We’re thrilled to welcome Bootleg Hill Honey Meads to their new home on 3rd Street and just a block over, Soul Ties is now serving dine-in at 4th & Brady. Boozies is also making headlines with their relocation plans to the Freight House and word on the street is a new piano bar is in the works (more on that soon)!
The hospitality scene continues to grow with the DoubleTree Hotel’s new restaurant, Bucktown Social, while Sisters in Bloom opened nearby, bringing a much-needed floral option to the district. And a sweet favorite is back, Chocolate Manor, now under new ownership, has reopened with full retail hours and their treats are as delicious as ever.
Progress continues on projects shaping the future of downtown. The Railroad Quiet Zone recently cleared its final hurdle at City Hall. Crossing upgrades will roll out over the next year or two and when complete, downtown will enjoy much safer crossings and far fewer blaring horns in the middle of the night (looking at you, 3AM!). With riverfront train traffic tripling, this improvement can’t come soon enough.
On the streets, 3rd Street resurfacing is moving block by block, paving the way (literally) for the long-awaited two-way conversion. Conversion will follow once paving wraps up, with more details expected this fall. 4th Street resurfacing and conversion are still on track for early 2026.
Meanwhile, the Main Street Landing riverfront project is moving right along, a major Skybridge lighting upgrade is being installed now and the new ADA-compliant sidewalks and lighting at 2nd & Iowa are a civic improvement worth celebrating.
Our events calendar is already filling up! DDP is rolling out a brand-new Halloween Spooky Spooktacular event this fall and the holiday season will be here before we know it. Thanks to the generous support of GreenState Credit Union, our new title sponsor for all Deck the Downtowns promotions, we’re gearing up for an even bigger and brighter holiday season. Deck the Downtowns, the K-Square Tree Lighting, Festival of Trees, and of course, our fan-favorite Holiday Pickle Hunt are all in the works. Stay tuned for more details in the months ahead!
The pace of growth and energy downtown is exciting and it’s thanks to the commitment of our business owners, property partners, civic leaders, and community members like you. Together, we’re creating a downtown that’s vibrant, welcoming and full of opportunity. We look forward to keeping you updated as the next season unfolds and we hope to see you downtown soon!
