Quad Citizens Behind the Businesses: Leslie Klipsch and Amy Sivertsen

September 2, 2020

These dynamic ladies (Leslie Klipsch and Amy Sivertsen) opened the doors to the first Quad Cities coworking space in November 2016. They saw a need for a place for creatives, entrepreneurs, professionals and others to work and opened CoworkQC inside Bucktown Center for the Arts. It didn’t take long for them to outgrow their home and expand into their current space at 102 E. 2nd Street.

They’ve had a critical role in helping build our regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping to nurture, support and create a space where Quad Citizens can build their network and get work done. Their presence downtown has not only enhanced the workplace atmosphere, but their members have brought an energy and vibrancy to the neighborhood. We feel fortunate to have CoworkQC call downtown Davenport home and hope you will consider supporting them through this challenging time.

Best known for:

Creating a beautiful work environment that fosters both productivity and community!

What do they love most about being downtown?

“We love the downtown vibe. We love the feel of the city, the people and the energy.”

What is the best way you can support this business?

The pandemic has forced Coworkqc into “maintenance mode.” This is a business built on bringing people together. At the moment they are open to members only, meaning they don’t have drop-in coworking, conference room rentals or events. The best way to support them is to purchase a full-time membership or a $25 basic membership that will help them keep their doors open. We can’t wait until the day we can gather safely as a community back in this space!

About the Downtown Front Porch Project:

The Downtown Front Porch project is a way to get to know the humans behind the businesses in downtown Davenport. Featuring more than 40 organizations, the images and stories that will be shared are reflective of the energy, passion and resilience of the people that make downtown tick.

“As we all try to navigate a global pandemic, finding ways to connect with our neighbors is more important than ever,” stated Kyle Carter, Executive Director of DDP. “With a year of cancelled events and less foot traffic on the streets, it’s critical that we spend our dollars locally to support the people in our own community. Small, locally-owned businesses are at the center of what makes downtown a special place. This campaign is an opportunity to show the faces of hard-working Quad Citizens and ways the community can rally to support them.”

The goal of the Downtown Front Porch project is to remind people that downtown is vibrant, welcoming and open for business.
