Where do we even begin with our love of fatsacksqc!? Well it undoubtedly starts with Rhea Vrana! We often talk about stories of resiliency in downtown and this woman is a poster child!
It’s been a wild ride for her, opening Roam (a short-lived, albeit beloved pre-flood of 2019 downtown hot spot). Getting her feet wet literally and figuratively with Roam, she dried off her shoes and apron and started creating pop up kitchens on drier land. Experiencing a lot of success and building a flock of followers, soon enough she was offered a location downtown. She took a leap of faith, gave it everything she had, and the stationary food truck is now a favorite among foodies!
When you're in her presence, Rhea has this radiating glow and one-bite of anything her hands make is just magic. A must-try for all Quad Citizens and visitors... and if you don't want to take our word for it, Iowa Restaurant Association recently named her one of 40 Women to Watch! She's a gem, and she's built not one, but TWO businesses in the midst of a pandemic. If you already love Fatsacks, you'll want to try her new place downtown, Cavort QC!

What does she love most about being downtown?
The love, support & dedication that business owners put into not only their businesses but the community. Most places have been around for a long time and have a great relationship with their customers- it’s refreshing to have that relationship with your guests and neighbors. More the merrier!
What is the best way you can support this business?
Fat Sacks pre-COVID was geared toward the late-night crowd – but the demand for their food during lunch and dinner changed everything for them. They have an indoor walk-up window inside Kilkenny's Pub, a walk up window on Third street, and is super convenient for curbside pickup. You can find their Full & Feature menus on Facebook @fatsacksqc and call 563.322.1970 to place your orders!

About the Downtown Front Porch Project:
The Downtown Front Porch project is a way to get to know the humans behind the businesses in downtown Davenport. Featuring more than 40 organizations, the images and stories that will be shared are reflective of the energy, passion and resilience of the people that make downtown tick.
“As we all try to navigate a global pandemic, finding ways to connect with our neighbors is more important than ever,” stated Kyle Carter, Executive Director of DDP. “With a year of cancelled events and less foot traffic on the streets, it’s critical that we spend our dollars locally to support the people in our own community. Small, locally-owned businesses are at the center of what makes downtown a special place. This campaign is an opportunity to show the faces of hard-working Quad Citizens and ways the community can rally to support them.”
The goal of the Downtown Front Porch project is to remind people that downtown is vibrant, welcoming and open for business.
