Downtown Front Porch Project: Fierce Photography

Quad Citizens Behind the Businesses: Sara Fierce

August 10, 2020

Say hello to Sara Fierce, owner of Fierce Photography. She is the creative mastermind behind the lens of this whole #DowntownFrontPorchProject! When we came up with the idea to show the people and share the stories of downtown businesses, we couldn’t wait to call our neighbor to see if she would be willing to partner with us!

Sara started photography as a hobby in 2009 and successfully built it into a full-time business, focusing on the high school senior portrait market. Two years ago, she opened a studio in downtown Davenport. It’s always fun to see Sara out and about downtown during sessions. She’s a pro at finding the perfect backdrop and capturing the personalities of her subjects. We are happy to have Sara be a part of the creative scene downtown!

Best known for:

Fierce Photography specializes in senior portraits in the Quad Cities, providing quality, clean and classic photography. High school seniors know the sessions in familiar locations are fun and laid back with no awkward posing.

What does she love most about being downtown?

“I love being able to walk around downtown with my clients and find beautiful backgrounds everywhere – including colorful murals, grungy alleys, architectural lines and park settings, too.”

What is the best way you can support this business?

Sara is booking 2021 high school seniors now with the hope she will be able to have normal outdoor sessions. Help Sara get the word out by sharing her website (http://www.fierce-photo.com/blog) with high school seniors and/or follow her on Instagram @fiercephoto.

About the Downtown Front Porch Project:

The Downtown Front Porch project is a way to get to know the humans behind the businesses in downtown Davenport. Featuring more than 40 organizations, the images and stories that will be shared are reflective of the energy, passion and resilience of the people that make downtown tick.

“As we all try to navigate a global pandemic, finding ways to connect with our neighbors is more important than ever,” stated Kyle Carter, Executive Director of DDP. “With a year of cancelled events and less foot traffic on the streets, it’s critical that we spend our dollars locally to support the people in our own community. Small, locally-owned businesses are at the center of what makes downtown a special place. This campaign is an opportunity to show the faces of hard-working Quad Citizens and ways the community can rally to support them.”

The goal of the Downtown Front Porch project is to remind people that downtown is vibrant, welcoming and open for business.
