Quad Citizens and Quad Cities visitors eager to host a fun afternoon or evening out with friends this holiday season should look no further than the new "Go Downtown!" advertisement of destinations in downtown Davenport.
The latest promotional package of video and photos feature a group of 20-something friends enjoying a "perfect day," complete with authentic dining, shopping and entertainment experiences at these independently owned businesses:
The video, produced by Mediacom / OnMedia Advertising, is running on Quad Cities television stations and social media channels; images of the outing, captured by photographer Darryl Cross, are running in the print and digital editions of the Quad-City Times. Following this year’s flood – the highest and longest in Quad Cities history – the media companies pitched the creative advertising campaign to the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP), a division of the Quad Cities Chamber. The organizations, both of which are Chamber members, offered their production services and platforms free of charge to help drive more traffic to downtown businesses.
“The collaboration is a fantastic example of community pride and wanting to make sure we help each other out,” said Kyle Carter, Executive Director of DDP. “As far as the ads themselves, the goal is to make sure people understand how broad the opportunities are down here.”
The "Go Downtown!" series also highlighted family-friendly activities and date night ideas in downtown Davenport.
