Haunts & hangouts: Last call for downtown patios!

Warm weather has kept Downtown Davenport patios busy this fall. With spooky season and sweater weather upon us, it's time to enjoy the last days of patio season. Here's a look at three great spots - but make sure you check out the links below for evey downtown patio!

Sippi's American Grill and Craft Beer has a patio full of people, lunch hour and dinner hour alike. With 22 craft beers on tap and daily specials, Sippi's is a great neighborhood hang or business lunch spot for downtown dwellers. Share Nachos Grande or dig into a tasty seasonal salad or homemade soup. Dinner options are plentiful. From delicious burger and sandwich selections to steak, spicy meatloaf and catfish - there's something for everyone. Their banquet room with a view of the Mississippi River and cozy fireplace is great for holiday parties, rehearsal dinners or any social gathering. Seasonal specials include their Apple Martini and Pumpkin Rumchatta Cooler.

Front Street Brewery is the OG of brew pubs in the Quad Cities. Established in 1992, FSB on East River Drive has a comfy, enclosed beer garden and an open-air courtyard. Enjoy a brew from their "core" beer selection - Raging River American Pale Ale, Cherry Bomb Blonde or a Bucktown Stout - with their famous pretzels. Their extensive, revamped menu includes creative takes on Steakburgers (try the PB&J) and Smashburgers (check out the Cherry Bomb - cooked in their signature beer). Also on the menu are salads, wraps, baked mac 'n cheese, pulled pork, tenderloins and much more - including seasonal offerings. Try the Pumpkin Spice White Russian or an Apple Cider Margarita. The FSB taproom at the Freighthouse on West River Drive has plenty of outdoor seating as well, and is THE place for a patio beer on Farmer's Market Saturdays. All patios are pet-friendly.

Devon's Complaint Dept. describes their vibe as, "a throwback dive inspired by a simple time; a time when the lights were kept low, the beer kept cheap and the establishment took on the name and personality of its proprietor." This throwback dive also has a sweet (and popular!) patio. Devon's fall offerings are best sampled outdoors on a crisp evening or sunny weekend afternoon. This month's featured cocktail, Smoke On The Water is a delectable combination of smoked cherry syrup, Averna Amaro, lemon, whiskey and black walnut bitters. Signature cocktails are just $5 on Wednesdays. Cozy up with an Old Fashioned, a Mint Gimlet, Spicy Mule or "Dinner at Devon's" - a pint of Coors Banquet beer with a shot of either Jameson or Wild Turkey and a side of popcorn - just $6 on Thursdays! They also feature a food truck on weekends and don't mind carry out orders from neighboring Armored Gardens. Owner Dan Bush says Devon's patio will be open all year for, "any soul brave enough!" Pets are always welcome.
