The Downtown Davenport Partnership Cleaning Ambassadors work every day to improve the quality of life for everyone in Downtown Davenport. We have the highest of standards to keep our downtown clean, safe, and attractive.
DDP provides cleaning services that supplement the basic services provided by the City of Davenport and the fundamental responsibilities of property owners. Team members also observe and report streetlight outages, public nuisances, and any relevant issues related to our quality of place downtown.
Each day, before the rest of downtown is moving, DDP deploys uniformed workers who hit the streets, alleyways, parking ramps, skybridge and sidewalks so that downtown opens clean and remains clean throughout the day. The team completes daily trash pickup of more than 130 trash cans. In warmer months, high traffic areas get power washed to remove accumulated dirt and grime.
DDP has zero tolerance for graffiti. Our team uses cleaners and high-pressure washers to blast graffiti off building walls, light poles, signs and street furniture while protecting historic architectural surfaces.
From weeding to cleaning, our team takes special care to maintain Kaiserslautern Square, Skybridge Courtyard, Lady of Germania, and Bechtel Park.
Following major snowfalls, DDP Ambassadors get to work clearing the curb-line and parking lanes. In coordination with the City, our crews do their best to keep our businesses and residences accessible.
The DDP Ambassadors maintain a variety of street furniture and report lighting outages to City staff for repairs.
In partnership with local social service providers and businesses, DDP Ambassadors are equipped to refer resources to downtown guests as needed.
The Downtown Ambassadors operate in the SSMID area seven days a week.
We highly recommend downloading the See, Click, Fix app on your mobile device. This is a City of Davenport Public Works and Neighborhood Services Citizen Reporting Tool. You can report anything from pot-holes to broken lights to overflowing dumpsters.
