We are empowering creatives to bring the community together with inspiring events that activate public spaces, thus enhancing civic pride and drawing more people to downtown Davenport. Through the Activation & Event Grants program, eligible events located within the boundaries of the SSMID may qualify for funding up to $1,500. To qualify eligible events must take place outdoors or be highly visible within the SSMID boundaries. Events must adhere to permitting and City of Davenport application requirements. All public events utilizing public space must adhere to City of Davenport event policies and be approved through the City of Davenport event application process. However, there are no restrictions on the type of event. It can be music, art, fashion, fitness, community-related, or anything else you dream of as long as it showcases the true spirit and souls of Quad Citizens. We do give extra points for events that are free, inclusive and unexpected.
So dream big and don't delay in sending in your grant application as funds are limited for this program. We also encourage applicants to share ideas with DDP staff as early in the planning process as possible. Please see map for district borders.
